I used to scroll on Instagram and TikTok every day for hours on end, slowly figuring out the formula to “go viral.” So why not take what I learned from my hours of time spent and apply it towards the greatest deli in the world.
For a summer, I managed and created content for the Instagram and TikTok accounts for the Millburn Deli, my favorite place to eat lunch at home. While the Instagram account already held an established following of over 12,000, I had to start from the bottom to grow the TikTok account.
For Instagram, I created engaging question prompts, funny food memes, and collaborated with personal blog accounts to showcase the delicious sandwiches.
For TikTok, I analyzed the hottest trends on the app and applied them to the Millburn Deli, skyrocketing the account’s following and interactions.

Running the social media accounts for the Millburn Deli was so rewarding; I taught myself new ways of reaching a target audience while making content for my favorite deli. But the best part of it all was the discount that came with the job.
